Weekly Review - July 30, 2023

Today I got my FoodSafe certification. My instructor wouldn't tell me my marks but said I did very well. We'd started at 8:35 AM (some of the students came in late) and ended at 1:30 PM, three hours early. Ma told me when I got home that she went to Metrotown. The mall didn't open until 11 AM, but The Real Canadian Superstore was open, and she managed to get some good produce and fish, including rainbow trout, which we never find in other grocery stores. She spent the afternoon frying the rainbow trout and salmon and chopping up mushrooms for freezing.

So in the last week I've gone through the Music Theory 101 modules and the Circle of Fifths module from Music Theory in The Versatile Musician. I've started to work on piano improvisation, ear training, solfege, sight-singing, and rhythm workouts in five minute increments. I can sing and play the piano chords of the first two lines from The Beatles' “Let It Be.” I've been able to do some physio exercises. I've started to read the first chapter of “Grant Writing For Dummies.” I caught up with friends whom I hadn't spoken to in a long time.
